Entry levels and grades

Speaking, Listening and Reading can be entered at Higheror Foundation level and the good news is that we can mix and mach! For example, some students are quite happy to be entered for Higher Listening and Reading but prefer to be entered for Foundation Speaking because they feel less comfortable in that skill. We do not need to choose a level for the coursework option as it depends on the outcome.

Of course, the choice of levels will affect the grades you will get. For example, if you only enter for Foundation level, you cannot get more than a C. Why? Well, the top mark in Foundation is 59 whereas the top mark in Higher is 90 and you need:

200 points for a C

240 points for a B

280 points for an A

320 points for an A*

The overall total is out of 360 points.

There is no magic,

if you want to do well, you are going to have to work hard!
