Poèmes

There's nothing a teacher treasures more than to see a pupil succeed.”

Here we have some examples of Year 6 work

The first examples are about the theme of “hello and goodbye”, “bonjour..au revoir..” To do this exercise, it was important to know how to use a bilingual dictionary. Have a look at the following three poems. I corrected glaring mistakes but, apart from that, this is the work of three Year 6 students, done towards the month of May, so two thirds of the way through the academic year.

bonjour, au revoir

bonjour enfant

That’s not all! Do you know the nursery rhyme “ 1,2,3, j’irai dans les bois”?

Non?La voilà:

Firstly we learnt it and then we had some fun just changing what we were collecting from the woods and changing the colours. But a student wanted to take it further: Here is her song (it does have a tune!), full of fun, entitled “la lune”  which she performed with a couple of friends to the rest of the class.

Finally,we had a poem as a model, it went like this:

Dans la ville

Il y a une rue,

Dans la rue

Il y a une maison,

Dans cette maison,

Il y a un escalier

Dans cet escalier,

Il y a une une chambre

Dans cette chambre

Il y a une table

Sur cette table

Il y a un tapis

Sur ce tapis

Il y a une cage

Dans cette cage

Il y a un nid

Dans ce nid

Il y a un oeuf

Dans cet oeuf

Il y a

un oiseau.

We learnt the poem by heart. Then the challenge was to write another poem, using this one as model. The children could, as usual, work in groups or on their own. Here are 4 examples:
